  • Robert S. McLeese (Chairman, President & Chief Financial Officer)

    Mr. McLeese is the founder and President of Access Capital Corp. (“Access”), a Toronto based Financial Advisory firm specializing in the independent power industry.  Access has been involved in over $1.9 billion of independent power production (IPP) project financing.  Through Access, Mr. McLeese provides strategic and financing advice to buyers and sellers of alternative energy projects (and companies) and has provided project reviews and rating services for lenders, owners and utilities (from 5 MW to 300 MW).  Technologies with which Access has closely worked include: gas fired cogeneration, hydraulic, biomass, waste coal, wind, other renewables, and district energy.


    Mr. McLeese is Chairman and Chief Financial Officer of ACI Energy, Inc. which owns and operates three waste coal fueled power plants in the U.S.; one being a 33 MW plant and the other two where ACI is a significant shareholder, aggregating to  123MW in total.  He played a major role in the development and financing of one of the projects and the acquisition and re-financing of the other two.  Mr. McLeese is also the Chairman of a Canadian company developing two significant hydro projects in British Columbia.


    Mr. McLeese is on the Advisory Board of Fengate Power and Income Fund (an Ontario based $400 million infrastructure fund).  He is a Past President of APPrO (the Association of Power Producers of Ontario), and he was a Director of Creststreet Power and Income Fund, which co-developed wind projects in Quebec, Nova Scotia, and Alberta totaling 149 MW.  He was also a past Director and Treasurer of the Toronto Atmospheric Fund, a past Director of Pristine Power, and was on the Advisory Board of Ontario Centres of Excellence for Energy (OCE-Energy).


    Mr. McLeese earned his C.A. while with Peat Marwick (1978), an MBA from McMaster University (1977) and a B.SC. from the University of Western Ontario (1974).
